(1921 - 1943)
Svend SÃ¸ndergaard is born on 29 December 1921. He is the son of farmer Lars Kristian Andersen SÃ¸ndergaard and Bodil Kirstine SÃ¸ndergaard (nÃ©e Pedersen). 
He is the brother of Andrew Christian SÃ¸ndergaard, DFC, who Flight Officer in the Royal Canadian Air Force. 
He arrives in Quebec on 29 November 1929 with how mother and siblings joining the father who had already settled in Ponoka, Alberta. 
He enlists in the Royal Canadian Air Force at some point and is trained as Flight Engineer. I have no details on his enlistment at this point in time.
He is killed in action on 21 December 1943. At 1615 Halifax V (LK644 ZL-C) of No. 427 Squadron takes off from RAF Station Leeming on operation to Frankfurt. The aircraft is piloted by F/O J M Grieve. The crew of seven is killed.
