Details

Target: Shipping and road movement on east coast, PESCARE-ANCONA. Eight a/c briefed, one did not take off owing to magneto trouble. Visibility was poor and there were rain showers in the area, also high, cloud obscuring the moon. No shipping at sea was observed nor more than 5-6 lights along coast road there were m/gunned. Some movement however observed on inland road moving towards PESCARA-MONESILVANO, this was bombed, causing flashes from rly & rd. junction MONTESILVANO and directly hitting railway shed at (R)C1626 (S.W. of PESCARA). Other targets bombed included bldgs at ROSETO, lights inland at ASINO (S6833); mole and town S.BENEDETTO; rly yard at RECANATI, and harbour installations at ANCONA. LF from 1-2 guns ROSETO, S.BENEDETTO, 4 guns S.GIORGIO, 7-8 guns ANCONA.
