Details
We escorted Hurribombers of 241 Squadron to transport North of Enfidaville. After the Hurricanes had bombed, the Squadron came down to ground level and straffed the roade with the following results:- S/Ldr. Winskill & Sgt. Whitling 2 lorries destroyed, F/Sgt Martin 2 lorries destroyed, P/O Plummer 1 lorry damaged. F/Lt. Lynes hit an ammunition lorry the explosion from which was so great it lifted 500 feet in the air. F/Sgt Patterson machined some Germans in a ditch, successfully. F/Lt. Lynes and F/Sgt. Patterson were both hit in their taile by enemy flak.
