T/Cpl Hans Andersen

Hans Andersen is one of the Danes who volunteers for the Royal Canadian Air Force. He serves an Aero Engine Mechanic.

Hans Andersen is born on 31 August 1904 in Denmark.

He is in service in the Royal Canadian Air Force during the Second World War. He enlists in Winnipeg on 2 December 1940. He is accepted for training as Aero Engine Mechanic with the rank of Aircraftman 2nd Class. He is posted to No. 2 Manning Depot, Brandon.

On 23 January 1941 he is posted to No. 1 Technical Training School, St. Thomas. He is promoted to Aircraftman 1st Class on 14 June 1941. About a week later, on 18 June 1941 he is posted to No. 10 Service Flying Training School, Dauphin, Manitoba. He is promoted to Leading Aircraftman on 1 January 1942.

On 8 March 1943 he is posted to No. 17 Service Flying Training School, Souris, Manitoba. He is posted to No. 8 Repair Depot, Winnipeg, on 9 December 1944.

On 22 August 1945 he is posted to No. 5 Release Centre. He is discharged the following day. [1]
