Sqn Ldr Svend Aage Nielsen

Svend Aage Nielsen is born on 3 April 1913 in Denmark.

He enlists for the Royal Australian Air Force on 4 March 1940 in Archerfield. At this point he is a naturalised British subject according to the enlistment papers.

On 1 September 1944, he is granted the King's Commendation for Valuable Service in the Air, when flying instructor at No. 1 Service Flying Training School.

He is discharged on 4 June 1946 at which point he is attached to 24 Squadron, RAAF, holding the rank of Squadron Leader [1].
