Spitfire IX L.F. , NH355 (FN-H)
12 a/c led by Wing Cmdr. Flying Berg took off from base for Manston and landed there at 14.40 hrs. The squadron took off from Manston still led by Wing Cmdr. Flying at 19.10 to provide escort for 110 heavy bombers on M/Y Avrenoe. Bombing looked very good. The flak was vey slight, and slight heavy flak was encountered S E of Caen, Charters nad Dreux. All a/c landed safely at B.2 in France where the a/c stayed for the night and the next morning.
ORB only gives a/c as FN-H, but Tidemann-Johannesen (2001) gives this a/c as NH355 in early August 1944
