D.D.808. Armed recce ARNHEM-RHUR-ZUTPHEN-APPELDOORN-AMERSPOORT area. This operation was carried out in sections of 2 a/c and the first section was airborne at 16.25 hrs., the other 3 sections followed with 15 minutes intervals. 1 a/c was hit by flak, but fortunately the pilot was unhurt and bought his a/c back to base without incident. Moderate military movements were seen in the area. Met. were observed scattred around in the KREFELD area. 1 flak train consisting of 15 plus waggons were seen in UERDINGEN. Moderate accurate flak was encountered over BONNINGHARDT. No enemy aircraft seen and all our a/c returned safely to base, the last section landing at 17.50 hrs.
