Rodeo 411. 11 Spitfire IX LF, 90 gallon tanks took off at 14.10 hours to carry out a fighter sweep Rheine area, 1 Spit returned after 10 minutes through hood jamming. Remainder swept area according to plan but uneventfully. Intermittent heavy flak from front line. Formation landed back at Ursel at 16.10 hours where they spent the night. In order to make up the squadron strength 2 Spits IX LF 90 gallon tanks, took off at 15.55 and landed at Ursel at 16.25 where they joined the rest of the squadron in case there should be a show laid out from there tomorrow.
