Details
Ramrod 1350. 12 a/c up at 14.30 to provide escort and target cover for Lancasters bombing a marshalling yard at Cologne. The operation went according to plan and the bombing appeared to be good though accurate assessment was impossible as the Squadron was at 24,000 ft. There was much cloud over the area of operation but there was a clear patch immediately over the target. Intense, heavy flak accurate for the bombers was fired from Cologne.
