12 Spitfire IX LF (90 gallon tanks) took off at 16.20 hrs crossing in at West Schouwen. They swept at 16,000 ft. to 15 miles S.E. of Utrecht - 10 miles N.E. of Eindhoven - Cleve - 15 miles N.E. of Brussels - Ghent - Breskens and out at Walcheren. Uneventful. At 17.21 hours Blue 3 & 4, F/O. Wyllie and W/O. Andrews, called up Manston (Bluefrock) on Channel 'C' for a homing. They were given a course of 283° which Blue 3 acknowledged, nothing has since been heard of them and they are both N.Y.R. Weather poor. Cloud generally 10/10ths cumulus at 15,000 - 16,000 ft.
