0941 A/B North Coates & S/C on company with X/254 [P/O J.M. McCarrison and P/O S. Wright].
1112 Landfall Borkum bearing 160/4 miles. Heavy haze in vicinity. S/C E'wards along C/V route and experienced heavy inaccurate flak from Norderney.
1121 Pinpointed Wangerooge LH & turhed W'wards.
1143 53°31N 06°35'E. 3 Dutch F/V's HD 109, SCH 160, ZK 66 Co. 210. Heavy accurate flak from Borkum. Circled but found no signs of missing Wellington or dinghy.
1159 53°31'N 06°21'E - 1 M/V (1000 tons) & 1 TLC aground. Attacked both vessels from S. to N., the M/V first. Huge explosion seen on the bridge & wreckage seen on sand after attack. Mast appeared to break off. TLC hit amidships & men seen running around in great excitement. When A/C approached to photograph damage TLC opened up with cannon & rifle fire. 2 bursts of heavy flak but course of this unknown. The attacks were carried out from 800 ft.
1222 53°32'N 06°18'E. S/C base. No sign of dinghy or A/C wreckage in area.
