COLOGNE. The primary target, COLOGNE, was attacked and bombed at 0510 hours from 22,000 ft. Weather 4-5/10ths cloud over target. Target was identified by T.I.s. Bombs were releaced on Green T.I. Bombing appeared to be well concentrated. Nickels dropped. Flak damages one [...] hole in starboard outer. When aircraft left the target, it appeared to be one mess of flames and could be seen burning 200 miles away. Photographs shows violent explosions and smoke column.
