Rodeo 204. 8 Spitfire IX's of this Squadron, led by Major F.Thorsager, took off with 331(N)Squadron on Rodeo 204 with this Wing acting as third Fighter Echelon. Major F. Thorsager was leading the Wing. The English coast was crossed at Dungeness at 14,000 feet and course was set for the French coast. Climbing on the way across the Channel, the French coast was crossed near Hardelot at 22,000 feet. The Wing turned to port and swept inland over St. Omer, Ypres and Mardyck where it turned to South towards St. Omer. Heights during this sweep varied from 25-32,000 feet. Approaching St. Omer for the second time, Appledore Control reported a number of e/a to the South. These e/a were not seen and the Wing turned to starboard crossing the French coast between Sangatte and Cap Gris Nez at about 1820 hours. Course was set for base and the Squadron had landed by 1859 hours without further incident. Weather:- 8/10ths cloud in thin layers between 18 and 30,000 feet somewhat hampered this operation.
