Ramrod 1230. 12 Spitfires IX LF (90 gallon tanks) acted as target cover for bombers attacking Noball targets in St. Omer - Bethume area. Operation went according to plan. Squadron patrolled from 18,000 - 20,000 ft. Markes seen near Hazebouck but no bombing was seen. Intense heavy accurate flak for the bombers from Hazebrouck and Poperinghe area. Cloud 10/10ths at 12,000 ft. N.W. of area, clearing towards the S.E. Visibility 50 miles above the cloud.
