Details
Aiming point "A". Mixed load and part of main wave. Identified by GEE fix and visual. Bombed at 2116 from 15,000 feet heading 150 K. Observed the large fire and black smoke in target area at 2042. Off the coast near Pleubian on way to target the rear gunner sighted a S/E enemy aircraft 800 yards astern above 9-10,000 feet heading about 280 degrees port to starboard. Sgt. Cartier turned to port and enemy aircraft was lost to sight. No combat took place. Return trip was quiet and landed at Topcliffe.
