Eight Bostons carried out armed recce roads N & W of ROME. Early crews reported little movement but later crews after moonset observed up to 200 lights between ORVIETO and BRACCIANO moving S. High columns of smoke resulted from bombing E of L BOLSENA and fires and explosions were caused also amont M.T. at A1566. Weather was fair, hazy in coastal areas. No opposition. 16 x 500 lbs & 128 x 40 lbs bombs dropped.
