On 21/22 MAY eleven Bostons operated, of these, eight covered the area CEPRANO-AVEZZANO and FROSINONE. Several ... little movement in the south of area but 50 M/T between CARSOLI and AVEZZANO.

Our a/c acted as pathfinders for 24 Baltimores and dropped flares on SUBIACO and CIVITELLA ROUETO. The Baltimores reported veru accurate pinpointing and they as well as our a/c successfully bombed these targets. 20 M/T at G3585 were attacked by these a/c.

Three Bostons recce'd roads N. of ROME where 300 M/T moving from VETRELLA to RIME were observed. These and transports in the TERNI area were bombed and straffed. No oppostition frem either target. 7/10 cloud over parts of both areas tended to restrict visibility. 22 x 500 lb. & 126 & 40 lb. bombs dropped.
