1517[/1539] A/B North Coates in formation with 9 A/C of No. 236 Squadron and 8 A/C of No. 143 Squadron. All 254 A/C armed with 4 cannon and one torpedo except T/254 (W/C. Burns) leading with 4 cannon only.
1617 O.S.Z.G. S/C base not having contacted wing. 2 pilots reported some effect on VHF as if picked up by enemy Radar when off own coast. This was confirmed by crews of other Squadrons.
1652/56 O.S.Z.G. landed base.
1715 Wing sighted and attacked 2 A/T's off Borkum. 'F' [Sgt Florentsen] did not attack but A/C 'D' attacked rear A/T with cannon diving from 300 ft. to 100 ft. After attack one A/T had disappeared and the second was on fire and probably destroyed.
1838/43 'T' 'D' & 'F' landed base.
