Details
12 a/c (C/O - S/Ldr. J. Walmisley) on armed recce on the ALESSANDRIA area. One electric train and 2 vehicles were destroyed , and 4 electric trains, 3 railway trucks and 7 vehicles were damaged. F/O I. Smith (80465) said that his a/c was hit by flak. His a/c was seen to turn on its back and burst into flames. The Pilot was seen to bale out and land safely, in the mountains N. of Spezia.
