12 a/c airborne; 2 had to return early with a [...] drop. FLAK: light, intense and accurate from A1275; heavy&light, intense and accurate from A4899. F/O Toubray, F/Sgt. Hackett, F/O Smith, I., and F/O Sutton damaged two volks-wagons at E7293. They destroyed 1 staff-car at A1695. 2 staff-cars were sent up in flames and one 15 cwt. damaged at A3591, and a 3-ton lorry and a volks-wagon destroyed at A1891. F/O Moubray and F/O Smith, I. were hit by flak bur returned safely. F/Lt. Ipsen, F/O Malloch, F/O Hallas, F/O Miller destroyed a 15-cwt. at E9094, and damaged a car and a lorry with trailer at A0892. At 18:55 P/O Sutton said he was going south to force-land behind our own lines. At 19:10 he was heard to say he was over LAKE BOLSENA at 4,000 ft. and would force-land allright.
