8 a/c airborne on escort of 24 B25s attacking bridges at INCISA. FLAK: Heavy, intense and accurate at 9264, and light, moderate ans accurate at 7456. A B25 was seen to be hit over target and three parachutes seen to open. The B25 was last seen at R5098. At R1530 a FLIESLER STORCH was seen low down; owing to heavy haze it could not be kept in sight. At E9669, 2 a/c went to investigate an unidentified a/c. No trace was seen of the reported a/c, but 2 5-ton trucks were observed at E7940. Both trucks were damaged. The a/c flying as No. 2 (P/O de Wet) turned in to attack again, when he said his a/c had been hit by flak and was going to force land. He was seen to land successfully in a field at 7458. He told his No. 1 over the R/T that he was quite all right and that troops were running towards his a/c.
