Harold Christien Thomsen

Harold Christien (Harald Kristian) Thomsen is born on 3 March 1905 in Rosenby, Denmark. He is the son of Anton Marinus Thomsen and Karoline Kristine Nielsen. [1]
He arrives in Halifax, N.S., from Copenhagen on 1 April 1929 on-board SS UNITED STATES. [2]
On 1 August 1941 he enlists for General Duties in the Royal Canadian Air Force in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan (R115795). He is posted to No. 7 Service Flying Training School on 20 September 1941, and reclassified as Airframe Mechanic on 30 September 1941.
On 17 November 1941 he is promoted Aircraftman 2nd Class and on 1. July 1942 he is promoted Leading Aircraftman. About a year later, on 1 August 1943, he is promoted Corporal.
On 19 September 1944 he is posted to "Y" Depot for embarkation, and he is taken on strength of No. 3 Personnel Reception Centre, Bournemouth, on 4 October 1944.
He is repatriated on 18 June 1945 and retired on 24 October 1945.
