Alfred Jensen
(1908–2009)
Alfred Jensen is born on 23 January 1908 in Randers, Denmark. He is the son of Martinus and Mariane Andersine Jensen (née Nielsen). [1]
He arrives in Halifax, NS, from Copenhagen on-board SS OSCAR II on 18 April 1927 to work as farmlabourer. [2] He is presumed identical to Alfred Jensen naturalized in Ponoka, Alberta, on 30 March 1935 (125204 A). He is, therefore, presumed naturalized prior to enlistment. [3]
In Royal Canadian Air Force service
He enlists on 13 October 1942 in Calgary, Alberta. He is posted to No.3 Manning Depot as a Tractor Operator with the rank of Aircraftman 2nd Class (R.194622).
He is posted to No.2 Training Command on 7 December 1942 and promoted to Airfraftman 1st Class on 19 January 1943.
He is posted to No.37 Service Flying Training School at an unknown date and promoted Leading Aircraftman on 13 April 1943.
On 25 October 1943 he is posted to No. 36 Service Flying Training School and to No.2 Technical Support Unit on 3 November 1944. On 6 March 1945 he is posted to RCAF Station Edmonton.
He is promoted Corporal on 1 October 1945. On 1 November 1946 this promotion os reverted to Leading Aircraftman in postwar RCAF (24399), but he is promoted, again, to Corporal on 1 June 1947.
