Details
Armed recco of all roads leading into ROME from the north by 7 Bostons & 1 A20G. Five Bostons took off during early part of night, but one returned aearly with bombs owing to engine trouble. Heavy southward movement reported and bombed at numerous pionts with good results. The remaining 2 Bostons and 1 A20G formed dawn patrol on same target and observed leser M/T which were however successfully bombed and straffed. Conditions hazy & no moon. No opposition. 12 x 500 lb. & 96 x 40 lb. bombs dropped.
