Details
o bomb shipping and docks at MARS MATRU. Aircraft formatted into two boxes of four, the first one taking off at 1940, the second box at 2000 hours. Formations broke up when out at sea due NORTH of MATRUH and aircraft came in to attack singly at heights varying between 6000 and 8000 feet. 11 bombs were dropped in the vicinity of the docks. Four fires were started. A/A fire, both light and heavy was more accurate and intense than on any previous occasion. Aircraft Z.9655 was holed in the main plane the pilot sustaining slight head injuries.
