Carl Kristian Hedegaard Jensen is one of the Danes who enlists in the Royal Canadian Air Force. He serves in Canada.

Carl Kristian Hedegaard Jensen is born on 18 June 1923 in Øster Assels, Denmark as Karl Kristian Hedegaard Jensen. He is son of shoemaker Frants Hedegaard Jensen, Struer, og Lilly Jensen. [1]

Arrives in Canada with his mother and brother in Halifax, NS, on 30 July 1925 joining the father in Exeter, Ontario. [2]

In Service

He enlists for the Royal Canadian Air Force in Ottawa on 14 November 1941 for "General Duties." He is initially posted to No. 1 Manning Depot with the rank of Aircraftman 2nd Class (R.143643). On 3 January 1942 he is posted to Trenton and then on 28 January 1942 to Newfoundland.

On 14 February 1942 he is promoted to Aircraftman 1st Class and on 27 April 1942 he is promoted to Leading Aircraftman.

He is posted to No. 7 Equipment Depot on 14 September 1942 and remains posted here until 14 July 1945 at which point he is posted to No.3 Release Centre, 14 July 1945. He is released on 19 July 1945. [3]

He is naturalized in Canada on 4 September 1945 (204336 A). [4]
