Torkild Lunøe

Torkild Lunøe is one of a small number of Danish pilots who volunteers for the Malayan Volunteer Air Force during the Second World War. He is captured by the Japanese and is sent to the notorious Burma-Siam Railway also known as the "Death Railway."

Erik Flemming von Holck

Erik Flemming von Holck is trained as officer in the Danish Army in the early 1940's. He escapes to Sweden and then England and is trained as agent in the SOE.

Lars Søndergaard Larsen

Lars Søndergaard Larsen was lost on 24 January 1942, when the Norwegian merchant MS Ringstad was torpedoed by a German U-boat. He had previously served in the Norwegian air force in Canada as a wireless operator.

Carl Rasmus Thusgaard

Carl Rasmus Thusgaard is a Danish born photojournalist who is killed in the Pacific during the Second World War. A Liberty ship is named after him only a few months after his death.
